If you´re serious about music, or even if you simply want to understand when you go to see an opera, it can be beneficial for you to learn Italian.

How long does it take to learn Italian?

The answer to this question is quite subjective and ultimately depends on what your goals are with learning Italian. If you just want enough Italian for when you go on holidays, it might not take you too long to learn all you need, whereas if you want to learn Italian to move to Italy and work there, the process may take a bit longer. However, no matter what your goals are, a private tutor for Italian can help you achieve them faster. It's recommended that in order to progress in Italian at a steady pace, you take at least 1-2 private lessons per week.

The best age to learn Italian

As many already know, it's best to start learning a language as early as possible in childhood, as children tend to absorb languages at a faster rate than adults. That's why many parents and guardians nowadays are seeking language lessons for children.

At the same time, it's never too late to start learning Italian. As a popular holiday destination or retirement destination, there are many adults in the UK choosing to take Italian lessons. And what better way to do that than with your own private Italian tutor?

How to choose an online tutor for Italian

So you´ve decided that you want to find a private tutor for Italian, but you´re not sure what exactly you should be looking for. Well fear not! Below we´ve highlighted some key considerations you should take when choosing your Italian tutor.

• Experience and qualifications. Your chosen tutor doesn´t necessarily have to be qualified in teaching or have years of teaching experience under their belt. However, they should be fluent in Italian and have a passion for the language which they can transmit to their students. Additionally, if you´re seeking Italian tuition for a particular reason, if you´re studying GCSE Italian for example, your tutor should have knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and the exam format, and ideally experience teaching other GCSE students.

• The tutor´s track record with past students. It's important that you check for reviews and testimonials from past students of your chosen tutor. In this way, you can see the kind of results they´ve achieved.
