Am passionate English champion aiming learners who wish to learn English as a second language.
Advert description
I have strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills that enable me to support learners effectively and create a positive learning environment. My approach to teaching is learner-centred, practical, and flexible. I understand that learners have different abilities, backgrounds, interests, and ways of understanding information. For this reason, I do not rely on only one teaching method. Instead, I adapt my explanations, examples, activities, and pace of teaching to meet the needs of the individuals or groups I am working with.
I begin by identifying what learners already know and the areas where they may need support. This helps me plan lessons that are neither too difficult nor too simple. I introduce new topics in a clear and organised way, using plain language before gradually introducing more advanced terms. I break complex ideas into smaller, manageable steps so that learners can follow the lesson with confidence. Where possible, I connect lessons to real-life situations, familiar experiences, and practical examples. This makes learning more meaningful and helps learners understand how they can apply knowledge outside the classroom.
I believe that effective teaching should involve learners actively rather than asking them only to listen. I use questions, discussions, demonstrations, group activities, problem-solving tasks, and short practice exercises to encourage participation. These methods allow learners to think independently, share ideas, and learn from one another. I create opportunities for learners to ask questions without fear of embarrassment, because questions are an important part of learning. I also encourage them to explain their thinking, as this helps me check their understanding and identify any misconceptions early.
My teaching style is supportive, patient, and respectful. I recognise that some learners may need additional time, repeated explanations, or encouragement before they feel confident. I make sure that no learner is left behind by checking progress regularly and offering individual assistance where necessary. If a learner is struggling, I try a different explanation or teaching method rather than simply repeating the same information. For example, I may use a diagram, a practical demonstration, a worked example, or a discussion with the learner. I aim to build confidence as well as knowledge, because learners are
