Former Associate Professor of Medical Sciences offering undergraduate students tuition in study skills to support their studies.

Went to Emma for careers advice back when I was an undergrad. Very knowledgeable and helped me put together a CV and cover letter that helped me land my first job after graduating university. Highly recommend working with her!

I had multiple sessions that really helped me understand how to structure my scientific writing, preventing lots of jargon that I was using before. This helped to reduce my word count and improve the overall quality of my work. The sessions were tailored to whatever I wanted to focus on and ultimately lead to me achieving a first overall in my dissertation. I would definitely recommend Emma to anyone who feels like the effort they put in to work is not reflected by their grades, as she helped me to overcome that final hurdle that I was stuck at.

She is very thoughtful in her approach, gives polite but honest feedback (which I definitely improved with)

Emma was a lovely tutor throughout my undergraduate degree, including helping navigate through my change in career field for my graduate job. She has been instrumental through my uni career and would highly recommend her!

Emma was a fantastic personal tutor during my time as an undergraduate at the University of Exeter. She shared invaluable insights and skills gained from her years of experience as an academic lecturer. Working with her significantly improved my confidence and strengthened my academic writing, CV and cover letter writing, and interview skills. Her guidance played a key role in helping me secure both an undergraduate research placement and a PhD position. Beyond her expertise, Emma is warm, professional, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to develop their academic and professional skills.

Dr Taylor supervised my undergraduate dissertation and I was very lucky to have her! She always had a positive and detail-oriented approach and was immensely supportive. She would explain and answer my countless questions so thoroughly that there would be no room left for confusion. Her feedback was always detailed and constructive, which allowed me to continuously improve my work. This resulted in a piece of work I was genuinely proud of and scored very highly in. Her guidance and support made a huge difference in my academic journey and I would highly recommend her to any student looking for a supportive and knowledgeable tutor!

I have had several sessions with Dr Taylor for support with applications, including placements and postgraduate study. She is very knowledgeable and supportive, and consistently well-prepared for sessions. She is very good at dissecting what a role entails and explaining how to present yourself as a strong candidate within an application. She has helped me present my experience in a clear and relevant way, including experience I initially felt was limited or less relevant. This has also helped build my confidence in my suitability for roles, which I have been able to carry forward into interviews. Her guidance has contributed to several successful applications. I would highly recommend her!
