I am an accredited AQA A-Level examiner, with 24+ years' teaching and tutoring experience

Cathy is an amazing tutor! Always goes through topics thoroughly and finds resources to help me better understand the content. She makes sure to point out common mistakes in exams and emphasise any marking points on mark schemes that are sometimes missed by students. Very resourceful and is always happy to share practice questions and revision resources. My A-level biology grade has definitely improved since beginning lessons with her!

Catherine was my tutor for five years and played a crucial role in shaping my learning techniques through GCSEs and A-Levels. Her patience, clear explanations, and tailored approach helped me build confidence and excel academically. A dedicated and very supportive tutor, I highly recommend.

I've had a great experience ! Her explanations are clear, and they've really helped me understand difficult topics in Biology. I feel much more confident thanks to her support.

I met Catherine when I was 15, she took me under her wing tutoring me in Biology. With her support I excelled and Biology was by far my strongest subject, consistently scoring in the top bands from GCSE’s to A levels. Not only was Catherine great at tutoring for Biology but she was a massive support in my decision to go to university and subsequent application. 6 years later I am in my final year of study at Kings College London and Catherine has remained a reliable source of support even through my university studies. She is a great teacher and an even greater mentor.

Working with Catherine was a pleasure she possesses a vast array of resources that can help with any type of learning and can suit individual needs. For example, as a visual learner and therefore remember through pictures and she provided me with appropriate websites and textbooks which showcase her expertise in the field and how long she has been a teacher. Through her comprehensive understanding of the mark scheme she can provide you with tips and tricks on how to tackle exam questions. I have had the privilege of being taught by her and lessons felt enjoyable as her passion for her subject radiated to me and I have been able to establish a good emotional connection that goes beyond just being my biology tutor asking for realistic advice in areas such as university life and subject related careers. These discussions also gave me the confidence to ask questions during our biology sessions without fearing that it would be a ‘dumb’ question without judgement.
