English Tutor with 5 years of experience tutoring KS3, GCSE & ALEVEL Students

With five years of experience tutoring English across all ages, I’ve developed a teaching style that blends rigor with a personal touch, inspiring students to achieve top grades and truly connect with the subject. Recently, I won an award from a prestigious tuition company, where I led a GCSE English Content Creation Project. This role allowed me to create high-quality resources for AQA and Edexcel, helping students secure Grade 9s across seven literature texts and a language course. My approach to tutoring is rooted in a deep understanding of exam board standards, as I work closely with AQA exam specialists to stay updated on what’s required for top scores. Currently, I’m a master’s student specializing in Shakespeare and early modern literature, which enriches my teaching and keeps me passionate about sharing English with others. I relate to students who might feel disillusioned, as I once did, but my own tutor helped me unlock my potential, leading me to excel and eventually pursue a PhD in English. I know firsthand how transformative the right guidance can be, and I aim to offer the same transformative experience to my students. Each lesson is carefully structured, beginning with key definitions, theory, and examples, followed by practice questions and verbal testing to keep students actively engaged. Homework and individual practice tasks are tailored to each student's progress, with detailed feedback and a firm but supportive approach to ensure consistent improvement. My goal is to make English accessible, inspiring, and impactful, helping every student not only to perform outstandingly but also to develop a lasting appreciation for the subject.
