English tutor, up to A level

Having recently finished my A level exams, I have firsthand experience of the challenges that come with studying English. However I developed skills and techniques to overcome these which enabled me to get the very top grades in both GCSE and A level. I have experience tutoring all confidence levels, improving their grades but most importantly their confidence. I use a range of materials, from online resources published by the exam boards, to my own essays, and the techniques I have learned from teachers, tutors and classmates along my educational journey. My lessons are informal, conversational yet thought provoking. Discussion is key to students understanding and identifying their own struggle areas, and allows for a degree of self directed learning. I find that guiding students to find answers themselves is the key to building confidence in their ability to critically analyse, rather than simply telling them the answer.
