Patient, encouraging and knowledgeable teacher with lots of teaching experience to help you progress and succeed

Roger helped me with my confidence in speaking Spanish with ease and humour. I now feel less worried about trying to converse.

Roger taught me German throughout secondary school and also Italian on my lunch breaks. I valued his lessons so much that he actually inspired me to go on to study German at university where I then obtained a 2:1 and spent a year living in Germany. I will forever be grateful to have had such an inspirational teacher and I still think back on my language lessons very fondly.

We have been extremely pleased with the support our Year 11 students received from their online Latin tutor over the past year. The lessons were engaging, well structured and tailored to the students’ needs, helping them to build both their knowledge and confidence in Latin. The tutor was consistently patient, encouraging and approachable, and explained challenging topics clearly. The online format worked particularly well, with lessons being easy to access and making excellent use of the available time. Over the course of the year, we saw the students become much more confident in their understanding of grammar, translation and exam technique. The tutor’s dedication and commitment made a real difference, and we would have no hesitation in recommending their lessons to other students studying Latin.

Roger was my tutor for a few years and was both professional, calm and extremely patient. He has a great ability to make learning fun and the information to stick. I enjoyed my time learning with him and he left a real mark on the way I see languages.

Roger is a very experienced and diligent tutor. He has exceptional languages ability and works hard to make lessons interesting, and to keep students engaged. He is passionate about his subjects and helps his students to achieve great results. He is really committed to establish a strong trust and rapport with the student. I couldn't recommend him more!
