Instrument Tutor, Improvisation & Creative Expression Coach

I am a multi instrumentalist with a unique, interpretive & deeply creative approach to music & instrument tuition. Musicianship & Musicality are foundational principles which underpin what I do. I began teaching primarily guitar in 2017 & have since been tutoring vocals as well as the foundations of drums & harmonica. I prefer a paperless approach to tuition as I like to focus on ensuring students understand how best to "think" what it is they're playing rather than simply memorizing song specific details. Effective understanding of improvisation enables players to enjoy jamming & performing live with more confidence. Greater understanding facilitates greater writing possibilities & greater ability to contribute to projects/bands. Much comes down to how we choose to listen, how we choose to interpret & how we can apply a practical understanding of theory & harmony. I approach guitar from a perspective of shapes, patterns & cycles. My aim is to provide aspiring players with the understanding & confidence to improvise, communicate & express with their instrument.
