I am a native English speaker from New York specialized in teaching grammar and pronunciation in American English

Alongside my TESOL/TEFL certifications, I have a degree in International Studies with a double minor in Mandarin Chinese and East Asian Area studies. As a foreign language learner myself (Mandarin and Japanese,) I understand the process of picking up a new language from start to finish and the challenges that come along with it. Over the course of my career I have played the role of an English tutor of native English speaking university students as well as a tutor to exchange students from Shanghai and Columbia. Whatever your level of proficiency, I will help you get to where you need to go. My personal mantra is that the future will be built on international communication and friendships- something that can only be done if we can understand each other! I've learned firsthand that the best way to pick up a language is through application and regular usage, so my lessons will be centered around active and consistent communication between me and my students regarding the subject material. My teaching will be heavy on careful pronunciation and phonetics to ensure the students are sounding like a native speaker in no time!
