Native Italian and English tutor providing Italian and English language, culture, & literature lessons for all levels

Hi! I'm Fili :) I’m a 24-year-old tutor (soon to be 25!) with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from SOAS University in London. I have been living in the UK for five years but I am currently based between London and Florence. My bilingual journey started early, as I grew up in Italy surrounded by au-pairs from the US and UK. Switching between English and Italian has always been a big part of my life! Because of this, I offer tutoring and academic services both in English and Italian. I have also been an Italian tutor for 2 consecutive years in a Migrant Reception Centre in Italy, thus, developed specific skills when it comes to structuring lessons for different types of levels. I have taught both individual and group lessons. Currently, I work as a freelance translator, editor, and content creator in both English and Italian. Why Choose Me as Your Tutor? Being bilingual isn't just about speaking two languages; it's about understanding the nuances, cultural references, and contextual usage that bring a language to life. My teaching method revolves around practical, scenario-based learning. I believe language learning should be active and engaging, and grammar should be apprehended through practical teaching, which is why my lessons are conversation-heavy and focus on real-world situations. This approach helps you build the confidence to navigate everyday interactions outside the classroom. What Can You Expect from My Lessons? Interactive Learning: Each lesson is designed to be dynamic and tailored to your specific goals. Whether you're looking to improve casual conversation, master business communication, or work on translation skills, I’ve got you covered. Cultural Immersion: Language is deeply tied to culture, so I incorporate authentic materials like movies, articles, and personal writing into our lessons. This not only enhances your language skills but also gives you a deeper understanding of cultural contexts. Flexible Approach: I understand that every student is unique, and so are their learning needs. Whether you prefer a more structured lesson or something more fluid and sponta
