Experienced Mandarin Tutor | Adults, GCSE & Beginners

Hello! My name is April, and I am an experienced Mandarin tutor with both classroom teaching and one-to-one tutoring experience. I hold a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from South China Normal University and a Bachelor's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. I have taught Mandarin to learners of different ages and backgrounds in both China and the UK. In China, I taught Mandarin to adult learners, helping students improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills according to their individual learning goals. In the UK, I have supported Mandarin teaching in secondary schools, working with students studying Chinese at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I have also worked as a Literacy Tutor, supporting secondary school students in developing their reading and communication skills. My lessons are personalised, engaging and designed around each student's needs. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for GCSE or A-Level Chinese, learning Mandarin for work or travel, or looking to improve your conversational Chinese, I will tailor each lesson to help you achieve your goals. I believe learning a language should be practical, enjoyable and confidence-building. My lessons focus on real communication, clear explanations and interactive activities, creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress. I look forward to helping you enjoy learning Mandarin and achieve your language goals!
