Experienced Psychology Tutor | Study Skills, Academic Writing & Qualitative Research Specialist

I am an experienced university-level psychology tutor with a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology and extensive teaching, marking, and mentoring experience within a UK university setting. I have supported undergraduate and postgraduate students across a wide range of psychology modules, with a particular emphasis on academic writing, study skills, and qualitative research. My tutoring focuses on helping students understand psychology concepts clearly, apply critical thinking, and communicate their ideas effectively in essays, reports, and dissertations. I specialise in qualitative research methods, including thematic analysis, interviews, focus groups, and literature reviews, and I provide structured guidance on research design, data analysis, and academic argumentation. In addition to subject content, I have taught and coordinated university modules in Professional Development and Employability, supporting students to develop transferable skills such as reflective writing, CV and personal statement preparation, academic and professional communication, and career-focused goal setting. This allows me to support students not only academically, but also in preparing for postgraduate study and psychology-related careers. I place strong emphasis on developing core study skills, including academic reading, essay structure, referencing, time management, and exam preparation. I aim to build students’ confidence and independence by breaking down complex material into manageable steps and adapting my approach to individual learning styles. I have significant experience marking university coursework and providing detailed, constructive feedback, enabling me to offer targeted support aligned with academic assessment criteria. I bring a calm, supportive, and professional approach to tutoring, particularly for students who may feel overwhelmed or lack confidence. My goal is not only to help students achieve higher grades, but to equip them with the academic, research, and professional skills needed for long-term success in psychology and related fields.
