A level Politics tutor with over 25 years of experience as Head of Department and Head of Faculty - AQA& EdExcel - Global and US

I am a highly experienced teacher and senior leader with over 25 years in the classroom, including 10 years as Head of Sixth Form and extensive experience as Head of Faculty and Director of Career Pathways at leading independent schools. I have taught History, Politics and Citizenship to examination level throughout my career, with a strong track record of value-added results and students progressing to top universities. I am a specialist in Cambridge International A Level Global Perspectives and Research — one of the most academically rigorous and unusual qualifications available, and one for which very few experienced tutors exist. I also teach GCSE and A Level Citizenship, a subject I have helped develop at a national level. I bring a deeply individual approach to every student. My sessions are built around your specific starting point, learning style and goals — not a generic programme. I have particular expertise working with students with SEND and SEMH needs, including those with anxiety, ADHD, dyslexia and autism, and I am trained in trauma-informed practice. I believe every student is capable of excellent work when the support is right.
