PhD mathematician helping GCSE students go from grade 3 to a confident pass, including November resits

I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics, an MSc in Operational Research, Applied Statistics & Risk, and a BSc in Mathematics, and I've taught maths at university level as well as to GCSE students in person. What I've learned is that most students who "can't do maths" aren't bad at it. They're missing a few foundations from earlier years, and everything built on top feels impossible. My job is to find those gaps quickly and fix them properly, in plain English, at a pace that makes sense to you. **My lessons** - **First, a short diagnostic.** We go through a few questions together so I can see exactly which topics are costing you marks. - **Then, a plan built around your gaps,** not a generic syllabus. The topics that earn the most marks come first. - **Exam technique throughout.** How to read what a question is really asking, show working that earns method marks, and stop freezing in the exam. - **Practice between lessons** from my own GCSE workbook and worked solutions, so progress sticks. **Resit students (November 4, 6 & 9):** if you need a grade 4 in the next few weeks, I offer focused resit sessions on the topics most likely to come up and earn marks fastest. **What students say** "The course materials were clear and easy to follow, which really helped me grasp algebra which I have been struggling with… I feel much more confident in my ability to pass any exams now."
