Learn Spanish with a Fun & Experienced Native Tutor in Newcastle or Online

I was a bit nervous about starting Spanish classes as I had recently been on an adult course and found it very dull. Nando is nothing like this, his lessons are so engaging. Sometimes I don't look forward to a lesson because it's on an evening and cold outside, but when I arrive I have a great time and I am laughing throughout and always come home smiling from such fun! It's a highlight of my week. I love how Nando uses a range of different styles of teaching to keep it interesting and interactive - working in pairs, as a large group, writing exercises, solo activities, listening so that I am never bored and I am learning throughout. Nandos a great teacher and starting classes was one of the best decisions I could have made! Cannot recommend enough.

Hernando is a great teacher and always takes the time to help with any questions and queries I might have! I look forward to each lesson!

Hernando is wonderful. I've worked with other Spanish tutors, and I think Hernando is the best at explaining tricky grammar in a way that I can understand. He is easy to talk to and funny! I would highly recommend him.

I’ve been learning Spanish with Nando for around 6–8 months, attending in-person lessons every Thursday evening. His teaching style is friendly, patient, and full of humour, which makes learning relaxed and enjoyable. Nando has really helped me improve my pronunciation and understanding of basic sentence structure, making everything easy to follow and remember. The lessons are always varied, with a good mix of group and individual activities, and the quizzes he runs now and then are great fun — I even won a chocolate once! I’ve completed A1 Spanish with him and am now working on A1+, and I couldn’t recommend Nando enough for anyone wanting to learn Spanish in an engaging and supportive environment.

I have been learning with Nando ever since COVID-19, and honestly, he is one of the best teachers. Many people were surprised that I was able to learn Spanish and get all of the tenses down in a short amount of time, especially when I went to Latin America. He has a variety of ways and approaches to teaching and uses real life examples that make it easy to understand. I would recommend Nando to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.

Nando is the best Spanish teacher I’ve ever had. He’s clear, patient, finds the exact right way to explain concepts to me. And most importantly, he’s super fun and lovely to be around! I’ve been studying with him online for 3 years and I’ve never been more confident in Spanish. Thank you so much, Nando!

I’ve been taking lessons weekly with Hernando for 2 years now and that in itself speaks to how great he is as a teacher and person! I’ve gone from advanced beginner to advanced intermediate and in addition I am confident enough that I speak with my 2 year old daughter fully in Spanish. You’d be lucky to work with him if you have the chance!

Excellent, friendly Spanish teacher!

I have taken years of Spanish classes with Hernando both in person and online and highly recommend him. He is highly skilled at teaching Spanish (grammar/vocabulary/etc.) and is a great guy!
