Guitar tutor - friendly and professional

I've been attending lessons with Dean for a few years now and he has the ability of being able to pass on his vast wealth of knowledge of all things guitar related in a patient and thorough manner.a great all round guitar tutor.

Dean has exceptional clarity in his lessons and just the right balance between theory and practice. He's able to show really good insight into why players get stuck playing the same thing and how you can move on with new playing techniques and styles quite quickly.

Dean is an excellent tutor, he teaches a variety of concepts in a very interesting and gentle way. This has helped me to apply his lessons into my own playing quite easily. He relates to players of every level in a very warm and encouraging way. For me, this makes him a great teacher who can inspire. I would recommend Dean as a tutor to anyone.

Dean is a great teacher with a really gentle style that seems to build progress without too much effort, just enjoyment. His knowledge is vast and he knows just how much to share at one sitting. He moved my guitar playing and understanding forward faster and further than I could have hoped. Highly recommended.

I've been learning guitar with Dean for several years (both online and in the classroom), progressing from beginner to advanced intermediate level. Dean prepares his lessons to develop the learner's abilities and to ensure progression is appropriate and at the right pace. The carefully chosen materials and content is always interesting and engaging. Dean listens to learners' feedback and adapts to their needs. Dean is an excellent tutor, very patient and understanding, with an amiable personality and a great sense of humour. I would thoroughly recommend Dean's guitar lessons.

Dean is an excellent tutor who is aware that everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. In addition to introducing material, he also provides very good practice hints and tips. I have mainly been to online classes with Dean but also one in-person as well and he is really good at both formats. As a higher education professional with a focus on teaching, I am more than happy to recommend Dean as a guitar tutor.

Hello , About 5 years ago at the age of 65 I picked up an old dusty guitar that had been laying on top of a wardrobe for years . I joined an Absolute and I do mean Absolute Beginners Class at the SAGE GATESHEAD lead by DEAN MOULDING . Now some years later I am thoroughly enjoying the challenges that music brings. I am now part of his Online Blues Class . Which he started and lead all through COVID , Dealing with Arpeggio’s , Pentatonic and Mixolydian Scales . Plus others. All of these things were a foreign language to me when I started . DEAN doesn’t show you what HE can do like some other tutors I have come across , but when you do hear him let go it is pretty amazing. He rather than that leads , encourages , guides and takes you on a journey which opens musical doors you never even new existed. To a level you are comfortable with. I have no hesitation in recommending his tuition to you all. As a note I have no personal or work or any other relationship with DEAN apart from music.

Dean is an excellent teacher and provides an easy and relaxed environment for learning. The lessons are always fun and interesting and I have learnt so much more in the 2 years or so that I have been attending his classes.

Dean is a top quality tutor. Not only is he a very accomplished musician he is really passionate about the guitar and clearly gets great pleasure from helping students improve their understanding and skills. He always makes lessons interesting and engaging, covering both theory and technique. I have been learning blues guitar online in a group course with Dean for 2 years and have gone from zero knowledge of the style to being able to play some pretty complex stuff. The experience has been most enjoyable and I highly recommend Dean’s teaching.

I have been having guitar lessons and tutorials with Dean for a number of years. In my view he is not just an excellent musician he is a born teacher. If you’re lucky enough to get lessons with Dean your playing will improve and you’ll have the best leaning experience. Jim Northumberland
