English teacher for adults, KS3 and English as a Foreign Language Specialisms

I have a Masters Degree in English and a First Class Degree in Scriptwriting and English and have taught a number of students (both adult and KS3), helping them achieve their academic goals over the past ten years. I very much enjoy one-to-one teaching and work with my students closely to determine what they want to achieve, where they need the most help and develop my tutoring style and content to their ability, so they know they are progressing each week. My focus is on the individual learner and therefore, I do not use downloaded lesson plans, all my tutoring is built around the student, so they can be sure they are getting the very best level of teaching possible. I am friendly, encouraging and currently teach a number of students, including TEFL, so I can adapt easily to different ages and abilities. My two loves in English are comprehension and literature, and I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of current books on the curriculum. This allows me to really embrace study with the student and build their confidence up. For adult students, you will find me very patient, understanding and like all good teachers, I aim for the very best outcomes. Whether you are an adult learner, or a 13 year old looking to improve your grades, I can help. Prevous successes have included a student who failed his GCSE twice and after a few months with me, obtained a grade 9, with a desire to go on and do his A'Levels. This is what makes teaching so rewarding. Knowing that even the students who appear to fail, can make a success out of their learning with the right approach. If you are looking for a tutor that adapts to your learning or your child's learning then I am confident my passion for the subject, along with my ability to build a study plan that works for every student - no matter what level they are at - then I would love to hear from you.
