From the mental health mentoring I completed through the University, it allowed me to develop my empathy further and understand a broad range of situations. Everyone deserves the chance to have good well being and this is how I will approach the majority of my lessons. With a solid skill in interpersonal communication, I will allow my students to air their current issues and learn how they can best tackle the situation. Since everyone is different, lessons will be tailored to their preferences. For example, if someone felt education was becoming overwhelming for them, I would help them identify coping strategies that work best for them (such as yoga, exercise or art as a form of therapy). Lessons will also overall help them to breakdown their problems and tackle them one at a time. Considering I am just about to finish education myself I believe they will find me a relatable individual to talk to.
