Qualified & Experienced Native English Language & Writing Tutor

I am a professional, committed English tutor with a CELTA qualification, and a BA and MA in humanities disciplines (languages & sociology). I speak 4 languages fluently, and have worked for the last 4 years teaching English to speakers of other languages. I have experience teaching a huge range of students and specialisations, from General English, to English for legal purposes, business English, and UK ESOL exams, as well as children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. I’m therefore highly experienced in planning and delivering tailored classes, teaching language use and grammar, and anticipating the difficulties that non-native English speakers have when it comes to confidently using the language. As a language learner myself, I know how rubbish it can feel to study endless grammar tables, or discuss the same old boring conversation topics, so in my classes, the focus is on learning through the things you like! We start by speaking, reading, or listening, and use that to help us build our language framework. I’ll recommend regular level-appropriate listening/ reading/ writing activities depending on your interests and skills, and we’ll use these to discuss new, specific topics each week. The key to language learning is habit building, and together, we can help you find a way to learn that you will look forward to adding to your daily routine! I am also skilled in teaching writing classes, so if you’re a college or university student looking to figure out how to improve your writing in order to get those top essay grades, get in touch!
