I am a private tutor, with experience teaching in schools and home settings. I have worked in formal settings in schools in Sri Lanka, teaching religious clergy and regular students. In Spain - Bilbao, I often delivered English tutoring to young children. Therefore, I have experience in delivering English lessons and support to younger learners (ages 6-17). In tutoring I will adopt a person centred style, if you have a specific structure you need supporting through - I will work with you to achieve goals in the way you choose. If you wish to follow a specific course layout with me, I will work through a coursebook with you based on your current level. Yet, I will still actively ask for suggestions and preferences, as I believe you should have the power to choose how you wish to learn based on what works for you, with guidance from me to improve. I like to keep things active and engaging, always bringing in creativity. This will show in activities I choose to use when we work together. Such as, using realia for demonstrations instead of photos, or games involving relevant subjects tailored to you.
