Producer and sound designer with 15+ years experience, teaching beginners (of any age) to make music the playful & pressure-free.
Advert description
I've been producing music since I was fourteen, so that's fifteen years of learning by doing, making mistakes, and figuring out what actually matters versus what's just noise. Alongside my own artist projects, I work as a composer and sound designer for commercial and film work, which means I've had to get fluent across a huge range of styles, tools, and workflows rather than sticking to one lane.
My teaching approach is built around removing the intimidation factor. Music production has a reputation for gatekeeping: endless jargon, "correct" ways of doing things, and a sense that you need to know everything before you're allowed to start. I don't teach that way. I focus on intuitive, hands-on learning where you're making sounds and finishing tracks from the first lesson, not memorising menus.
This works especially well for two groups: complete beginners who feel intimidated by the software, and older students or anyone who's been putting off starting because they think they've missed the boat. There's no such thing as too late, and a bit of naivety going in is actually an asset, not a weakness.
Above all, I teach playfulness. Music software rewards curiosity and experimentation far more than rigid rule-following, and once a student feels safe to mess about and make "wrong" sounds on purpose, that's when real progress happens.
