Polish Lessons | 20 Years’ Teaching Experience | GCSE, A1-C2 Exams | All Ages Years | Online and In-Person Lessons

Advert description

I am an experienced Polish teacher with a Masters Degree, offering one-to-one tuition, online and in person. I'm flexible and can adjust to your needs depending on what you want to learn Polish for business, exams (GCSE, A1-C2, Polish State Certificate Exams in Polish as a Foreign Language) or just because you have a Polish friend, boyfriend, girlfriend or family. I will provide all the necessary teaching materials (grammar and pronunciation exercises, texts and recordings). As well as doing standard grammar and vocabulary work, I believe that it is very important to talk as much as possible. By listening, speaking and repeating as children do, you will learn new structures naturally. Learning a foreign language doesn't have to be like it is in school - it can be fun! Also, knowing conversational language will allow you to communicate in a variety of everyday situations. If you want, we can record our lessons, that way you can listen to dialogues and new words later on at home and make quicker progress. This method has proved effective with all of my students over the last 18 years. But of course the format of our classes is entirely up to you. Tuition takes place either over Teams / WhatsApp / Zoom or at my home in Walthamstow (10-minute walk from Blackhorse Road station). All levels and age groups welcome!

I started learning the piano in 2016 with Julia at a beginner grade during my early 60s and have made excellent progress to about grade 6 and above. She is an excellent teacher: attentive, conscientious, thoughtful, supportive and with a very deep knowledge of the piano. What I very much like about the lessons is that they are structured which facilitates progress and which I find motivating. Julia suggests appropriate pieces for me to extend my level, we practice sight reading, specific techniques ( e.g. drawing on pieces from Czerny), the scales and various areas of theory. I recommend Julia as a brilliant teacher.

Learning piano with Julia is a wonderful experience. She is incredibly attentive and patient, and creates the perfect atmosphere for learning. Lessons are calm and encouraging, but she has the intuition for knowing exactly when to push you to help you improve, and how to work on those areas efficiently. What I appreciate most is that she is a great motivator without ever putting pressure on you. It makes her the ideal teacher if you want to make progress playing piano steadily and enjoy the hobby long-term. Her lessons are very practical, but she has such deep musical knowledge and always takes the time to explain theory clearly whenever needed. I can't recommend her highly enough!
