Patient, engaging tutor helping 11 Plus and Key Stage 3 students build confidence in maths through supportive, tailored lessons

I hold a degree in Mathematical Sciences and have been teaching mathematics for several years, including at a supplementary school, and my own children. I have strong skills in simplifying complex concepts, and my experience includes supporting students for the 11 Plus exams, Key Stage 3 and tutoring for Functional Skills for adults. Both of my children passed their 11 Plus exams and achieved excellent grades in their GCSEs, which has deepened my understanding of the demands of these exams. I’ve learned through both my professional and personal experience that everyone learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of my students. I break down topics into manageable steps, using practice problems and interactive methods to reinforce understanding. My teaching approach is focused on building confidence and fostering independent problem-solving skills, ensuring that students feel comfortable and engaged throughout. By adapting lessons to each student’s learning style, I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where students can excel and achieve their best in maths.
