Native Mandarin speaker offering engaging Chinese lessons for children, teens, and adults

Sophie is extremely organised and knowledgeable, so as a parent it was a pleasure to work with Sophie. Sophie was always on time for lessons and communicates well in regards to lesson planning and content.

Sophie is a superb tutor. She has a very strong knowledge of her subject and prepares really interesting lessons at exactly the right level for my eight year old son. She draws on his own interests and her own wide knowledge of Chinese culture and language. She has a lovely manner with him and is very patient. I highly recommend Sophie.

I had GCSE Maths and Physics lessons with Qiyu in Year 11. The classes were well planned and calm. She explained ideas step by step and showed me how to set out my working to get full method marks. Each week we used past papers, timed tasks, and quick checks. I learned good exam habits: underlining key words, choosing the right method, and checking units. When I was stuck, Qiyu gave short, clear explanations and then made me try a similar question so the method stayed in my head. Homework was small and focused, and we kept a mistake list so I didn’t repeat errors. Her feedback was simple and practical. My confidence improved a lot, and I reached my target grades in both Maths and Physics. I would recommend Qiyu to anyone who wants steady progress and clear help for GCSEs.

Qiyu’s classes are rigorous, professional and patient. As an already advanced learner I still zone out or stall; she instantly spots it, gives me the exact Chinese prompt I need, then glides back to English so I can re-enter the conversation without anxiety. Each lesson is built around real-world topics—globalization, economics, international relations—that dovetail with my university work, widening my horizon while directly serving the exam. Her feedback on speaking and writing is one-sentence sharp and immediately actionable. The atmosphere is highly interactive and I felt supported every minute. I hit my target score and recommend her without reservation to anyone who wants efficient, practical, detail-oriented English support.
