Native Mandarin Tutor | Former Primary & Special Education Teacher from Taiwan

Hi, I’m Xia from Taiwan, currently living in London. Mandarin Chinese is my native language, and before moving to the UK, I worked as a primary and special education teacher in Taiwan for over four years. These days, I work as a live-in nanny with an international family, supporting two wonderful children while continuing to explore life in a new country. I’ve always believed that language is best learned through real life, not just textbooks. So whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some Mandarin skills, I hope our lessons can feel more like meaningful conversations than traditional classes. Outside of teaching, I love travelling, hiking, scuba diving, and spending time in nature. I’ve travelled extensively around Japan, lived in Kyoto through a work exchange programme, climbed Mount Fuji, and have a interest in matcha and tea culture. I also enjoy gardening, music, and discovering local cafés wherever I go. I have experience working with both children and adults, and I enjoy adapting lessons to each person’s interests and goals.
