Experienced Tutor - History and Politics

I’m Nathan Heddle, an experienced History and Politics teacher with more than 25 years’ experience in secondary education in the UK. My specialist subjects are History and Politics, and I have taught extensively at both GCSE and A-Level. I have also held senior leadership responsibilities, including working as an Assistant Headteacher and Head of Department, giving me a broad understanding of curriculum development, assessment, examination requirements and what helps students make real academic progress. With a background in examining at GCSE and A-level, in both History and Politics, I've the experience in what the exam boards want to ensure student success. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing a student develop confidence — whether that is finally understanding a difficult historical topic, learning how to structure a strong essay or beginning to believe that they can achieve a higher grade than they thought possible.
