I have over 11 years of experience teaching Biology to senior secondary and post-16 students, with a strong focus on conceptual understanding, exam preparation and learner confidence. I have taught large and diverse student groups, supported learners preparing for medical and science-related progression routes, and helped students improve through structured teaching, regular feedback and targeted academic support. My teaching style is clear, structured and student-centred. I begin by identifying what the student already understands and where the gap is. I then break the topic into simple steps using diagrams, flowcharts, examples and questioning. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind biological processes rather than only memorising facts. Once the concept is clear, I move to practice questions, exam-style application and feedback so the student learns how to use the knowledge correctly. I am experienced in teaching topics such as cell biology, genetics, human physiology, microbiology, immunity, ecology and biological molecules. I also support students with homework, revision planning, exam technique, confidence-building and independent study habits.
