English tutor providing lessons for all ages

I am an experienced English tutor with a strong academic background and a proven track record of helping students build confidence and achieve excellent results. Throughout secondary school, I was awarded my school's English Literature Prize for three consecutive years in recognition of my academic performance and enthusiasm for the subject. At A-Level, I achieved outstanding results and was subsequently notified by AQA that I ranked within the top 1% of students nationally for English Literature in the 2022 examination cohort. I have taught English across a wide range of educational settings, which has enabled me to adapt my teaching style to different ages, abilities, and learning needs. My experience includes supporting pupils in a primary school classroom, mentoring students through a university educational clinic, and teaching English abroad in China. These experiences have helped me develop a patient, flexible, and engaging approach to tutoring. Whether a student is studying English Literature, English Language, or preparing for examinations, I focus on making complex ideas clear and accessible. I help students develop strong analytical skills, improve essay structure and written expression, and gain the confidence needed to excel in assessments. I offer support with: • Primary and secondary English • GCSE English Literature and Language • A-Level English Literature • Essay writing and exam technique • Literary analysis and critical thinking • Reading comprehension and written expression • Revision planning and study skills My lessons are tailored to each student's individual goals and learning style. I believe that success in English comes from developing both confidence and understanding, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment that allows students to reach their full potential while enjoying the subject.
