Hi! I’m Cora, a native Mandarin speaker and a first-year university student studying International Chinese Language Education. I especially enjoy working with absolute beginners who are starting Chinese from scratch. In my lessons, we focus on what you actually want to use Chinese for — everyday conversation, pronunciation, Pinyin, basic vocabulary, simple sentences, or exploring Chinese culture. I explain concepts step by step instead of overwhelming you with too much information all at once. We practise together through short dialogues, real-life examples, repetition and simple exercises. It’s totally fine if you feel nervous speaking Chinese. I’ll give you time to think and try, and I correct mistakes clearly and encouragingly. If a topic feels tricky, we can slow down and approach it from a different angle. I can switch to English for explanations whenever you need it, which is really helpful at the very beginning. My goal is to make Mandarin feel less intimidating and more practical for daily life. I’m building my teaching knowledge through my university course, so I welcome your feedback and prepare carefully for every lesson.
