I’m a friendly, relaxed English Literature graduate who enjoys making learning fun and accessible. tutor mainly younger students.
Advert description
I’m a recent English Literature graduate with a strong academic background and a real interest in helping students feel more confident with their work. I got AAA at A level in English Literature, Psychology and Geography, before studying English Literature at university, where I particularly enjoyed exploring topics around gender, race and representation.
I’m confident with essay writing, reading, critical analysis and explaining ideas clearly. I’d be particularly happy helping students with English, whether that’s understanding a text, coming up with ideas, structuring an essay or just feeling a bit more confident with their work.
My teaching style would be relaxed, friendly and tailored to the student. I’d start by getting a feel for what they enjoy, what they find difficult and what they want to improve. From there, I’d keep lessons fairly informal and conversational, breaking things down into simple steps and working through things together.
I don’t want lessons to feel like another stressful classroom. I’d rather create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and figuring things out without worrying about getting everything right straight away. My main aim is for students to finish each lesson feeling like they understand something they didn’t before, and a little more confident in themselves.
