Jonny has been one of the best music teachers I have had in my musical career. He is very knowledgeable and incredibly well-versed in a variety of musical topics, from instrumental to theoretical aspects. Every lesson you learn something useful, and Jonny approaches his teaching in a very personalised manner. He is very flexible in the way he explains concepts and ideas, making complex topics much more digestible. He has an impressive mastery over orchestral composition and orchestration, which has been most useful in my own learning. He always offers constructive feedback in a way that encourages you to try new things without any judgment. On top of being a professional, Jonny's personality is what also makes his lessons something to look forward to each time. If anyone is looking to learn music basics or perfect or deepen already existing knowledge, Jonny is the person to go to. Could not recommend him enough!

I’ve been taking piano lessons with Jonathan for over a year, and the progress I've made is incredible. He has drastically improved my music reading and piano technique by breaking down everything into easy, manageable steps. Not only that, his music theory knowledge is brilliant, and he often can tell you things about the way a piece was written, which really helps, as well as being interesting. On top of being a fantastic teacher, he’s a genuinely great guy, lessons are always fun, engaging, and relaxed, with plenty of room for friendly conversation. Having started lessons on music composition with Jonny at the beginning of this year, I have learnt so much more recently than I did years ago, and I am in my 60s. Jonny has a special talent with understanding my own individual, quirky needs and finds the most appropriate method to help me understand the bits I find difficult. I'm looking forward to the prospect of becoming a composer. Such fun!
