I had the privilege of being taught by Mr Yates for three years, both in A-Level Law and as my EPQ supervisor. His passion for teaching really shines through in every lesson, as he has a way of explaining complex topics that makes them easier to understand and connect theory to real-world situations. During my EPQ, his guidance was incredibly valuable, especially in helping me narrow down my research question and making sure my project had the right focus and depth. He always pushed me to think more critically, express my ideas clearly, and improve my academic writing, which motivated me to aim higher and excel in my studies. He also provided thoughtful and honest feedback on my personal statement, which was incredibly helpful during my university application process. Mr Yates was my A-Level History teacher for a year. During this period I’ve had the most amazing experience being taught by an exceptional person.
