Versatile, groove-focused bassist blending technique and feel, teaching novice to intermediate players essential skills and theory

Very experienced and helpful

Malik is an incredible bassist and teacher with a unique style that blends cinematic soundscapes with soul and funk grooves. His deep knowledge of music production gives him a strong understanding of how bass fits within a mix, making his lessons especially valuable for those wanting to play in recordings or live bands. What makes Malik stand out as an instructor is his ability to break down complex ideas into easy-to-understand systems. As someone who sometimes finds music theory overwhelming, I really appreciated his structured and clear teaching style. His passion for bass and creativity shines through in every lesson, making learning both engaging and insightful. If you’re looking for a teacher who will help you develop not just technical skills but also a musical mindset, then Malik is your guy.

I’ve been taking bass lessons with Malik, and he has completely transformed my playing and confidence as a performer. His teaching style is both structured and adaptable, making every session engaging and productive. Malik has a deep understanding of technique, groove, and musicality, but what sets him apart is his ability to tailor lessons to my needs. He’s helped me refine my timing, improve my stage presence, and develop a stronger connection with my instrument. His feedback is always constructive, and he knows exactly how to push me while keeping things enjoyable. Since working with Malik, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my performance—whether it’s locking in with a band or feeling more comfortable on stage.
