High quality bass guitar lessons from a teacher with more than 10 years of experience

Sam has been teaching my son Archie bass guitar for a couple of years. Sam has built an excellant rapport with Archie, and Archie thoroughly enjoys his lessons and has made good progress. Sam plays bass professionally in a couple of bands, and this experience of the music industry is useful and inspiring for students. Laura MCLELLAN, Roundhay

Sam is a great tutor. He helps me develop by playing different styles, using his knowledge and experience to encourage me out of my comfort zone and master new techniques. All done in a planned, friendly, supportive and non-pressurised way which motivates me to practice and learn.

I highly recommend guitar lessons with Sam. I’ve been having lessons once a week since May 2024. Sam is an excellent tutor. His lessons are enjoyable and relaxed but with a clear focus. Sam is a talented musician and incredibly knowledgeable about different genres of music and all things guitar related. I recommend Sam for beginners to advanced musicians. I’ve made great progress and plan to have lessons with Sam for as long as possible!

Sam has been teaching bass guitar to our now teenage daughter for more than two years: he's extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, patient and encouraging, and as a guitar player myself I'm really impressed by the results he's achieved through a great balance of fun exercises, musical theory and a love of the instrument. He is engaging and personable, and has tailored his lessons to include the sort of music that our daughter likes, meaning she looks forward to the lessons and can practise the songs from her favourite artists. His communication about lessons is also great - he's reliable and on time too.

Sam is a fantastic guitar tutor and has been very patient with my 13-year-old. The music he teaches has been fun, engaging and the way he breaks it down has made it achievable for my son to play and enjoy. My son looks forward to his lessons and learnt about about music that has also helped him in school.

Sam has been teaching my children for over 8 years now - both bass and guitar - and they have made significant progress and a real love of playing their instruments. They have progressed through the grades well when they have wanted to do that, but also really enjoy the focus on non grade work, with lots of improvisation, great technique and they find it inspiring to be taught by a musician who has a broad musical career outside of teaching. Would highly recommend Sam to anyone looking for guitar or bass tuition.
