Experienced tutor - English, Maths, Science, Music, French, Driving Theory through online lessons. Everyone has their own talents - let's discover what yours are!

I have amassed 1500 tutoring hours & 22 teaching years before that. Dedicated, highly customised teaching is the secret to my students' success. I hold a PGCE, also BA and MA from Oxford University. As a tutor, teacher and graduate, I value the importance of education and the massive difference it can make to people's lives. I love learning and convey this to my students. I have endless patience and don't hold grudges. In my experience praise and motivation work best to build a mutually respectful and fruitful working relationship. I customise my teaching according to students' strengths, needs and gaps in knowledge by using what I've learned as a classroom teacher; I combine this with the insights I've gleaned from my tutoring. I accelerate students' learning by thoughtful crafting and delivery of lessons that challenge them through carefullly-engineered questioning and that motivates them to learn and keep seeking knowledge. Students and I do a number of interactive educative games to grow their skill sets because learning can be more firmly embedded when having fun! I regularly pop in mini fluency drives to practise and retain knowledge. Lessons range from 15-minute boosters to 4-hour study sessions. I use students' interests and abilities to build up an arsenal of strengths, and together we build up their resilience that they can wear like a coat of armour to deal with the exciting things that lie ahead in life.
