Experienced teacher offering tutoring in Science and Maths to spark enthusiasm, develop confidence and achieve results

I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. I oversaw one of the country's largest educational outreach programmes for ten years. This involved teaching many thousands of children in over 100 schools across London. In this time I developed a specialism in Science and Maths teaching at primary level. I have developed and taught innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) curriculae and have a very strong track record in sparking enthusiasm, developing confidence and helping young people from all walks of life achieve great results. My approach is supportive and personalised. I believe that each child has their individual needs and learning style. The greatest success is found when a teacher can listen to those needs and adapt accordingly. I am a strong believer in the Socratic method of teaching, which involves using my strong subject knowledge to guide the student to the answer through challenging and interesting questions. I don't believe in simply giving young people the answer or teaching to the test. I can give children both the foundational knowledge and the skills and confidence to apply this knowledge in different settings.
