Everyone can be motivated to learn. My lessons are learner-led so that students are always motivated to learn, via motivators that work for them. The aim of my lessons is to help students overcome their barriers and build skills based on their strengths. This is achieved via continuous rapport building and evaluation so that support for students is tailor-made to meet each students’ individualised changing needs. Both overall well-being of students and learning skills that matter to them are of utmost importance and are thus the core of my support to all learners. I am also a BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst) trained in Behaviour Analysis which involves the principles of learning theory. Where appropriate, behavioural strategies are incorporated in my tutoring support for learners/students who present special education and health needs, however with or without any diagnosis. Examples are developmental delay, mental health e.g. depression, anxiety, etc., and diverse conditions e.g. ADHD, autism, etc. I have more than 13 years’ experience supporting students (aged from 1.5) from diverse backgrounds for support areas that are important to the learners and their families, including core subjects.
