I always use a peer-based approach so that students feel comfortable because there is no distance between them and their tutors. It is important to give them the opportunity to ask questions about the material outside of class hours. In conclusion, an easy way to build their confidence is to give them instructions to talk about what they have done or will do in their daily lives in English.
