Learn Mandarin with an Award‑Winning Teacher Who Makes Chinese Clear, Confident & Enjoyable

I am an award‑winning Mandarin tutor with over 18 years of teaching experience, offering personalised, flexible Chinese lessons for learners of all ages and levels. As a native Mandarin and English speaker, I specialise in making Chinese clear, accessible, and enjoyable, whether you’re a complete beginner, a school student, or an adult learner aiming to build fluency. My teaching style is patient, structured, and highly tailored. I take time to understand each student’s goals and learning preferences, then design lessons that build confidence step by step. Students appreciate my clear explanations, supportive approach, and the calm, encouraging environment I create—one where they feel comfortable practising, asking questions, and making steady progress. I teach a wide range of curricula and qualifications, including GCSE (AQA and Edexcel), A‑Level, HSK (Levels 1–6), and YCT. For exam learners, I provide targeted support covering vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and exam technique. My structured approach helps students feel fully prepared and capable on exam day. A typical lesson includes a warm‑up review, clear learning objectives, step‑by‑step teaching, interactive practice, and personalised feedback. Whether online or in person, lessons are designed to be engaging, effective, and tailored to your pace. I hold a degree in English and a Secondary Education Teaching Qualification from Huabei Teachers College in China. I taught for eight years in China before relocating to the UK, where I now teach in a primary school alongside my private tutoring practice. In 2023, I was honoured to be named the Outstanding Chinese Teacher of the Year by the UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education. Above all, I love helping students discover the beauty and logic of Mandarin. Seeing learners grow in confidence—whether mastering tones, recognising characters, or achieving top exam results—is what inspires me every day.
