6+ years experience in education; specialising in maths

With just over 6 years working in education, I have worked in numerous educational settings; from mainstream Secondary schools, to adult prison education and teaching abroad. Thanks to my varied experience of educational settings, I pride myself on my ability to approach any learner's education effectively and efficiently, regardless of background, starting points or initial limitations. Education is something that unlocks so much more than many people realise. To some it may seem just a way to gain a qualification or certificate that looks good to an employer, or a way to show general achievement. However, to me, education represents an opportunity to learn, understand and question the realities of our World. It gives us the chance to build on our experiences and make progress as an individual within society. Throughout my time in education, I have been able to develop my skills and abilities in teaching, providing innovative, exciting and effective sessions to my learners. My organisation skills coupled with my ability to adapt to changes at a moments notice have meant that I am always able to provide benefit to those who I work with. I also possess excellent inter-personal skills within any learning environment; maintaining a culture of mutual respect, approachability and yet clear-set goals and expectations in order to maximise learning potential.
