As well as being a tutor of mathematics, I have maintained an active research career at a number of UK universities, such as Loughborough University, Durham University and The University of Hertfordshire, where I have pursued cutting-edge research in an area of mathematics called representation theory. Representation theory is the study of symmetry and its expression/representation via vectors and matrices, and has diverse applications from solving problems in abstract algebra to understanding the mathematics of particle physics. I have published several research articles in representation theory, and have been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences on the subject area. Outside of mathematics, I am also an amateur artist, with a focus on acrylic landscape paintings.
