Experienced Private Tutor and Cambridge graduate

I have over 100 hours of private tutoring experience across the subjects of English Literature (to university level) and History (to A Level). I have also taught university courses at the University of Bristol and elsewhere. I am particularly experienced in working with students who might not naturally be drawn towards the humanities or essay subjects and working to find ways for them to connect with the subject and, ideally, go up a grade boundary or multiple grade boundaries. I also, however, really enjoy working with GCSE, A level or university students who love the subjects but need a little bit of support to go the extra mile. I hold a first-class degree in English Literature from Oxford Brookes University, an MPhil in Medieval and Renaissance Literature from St Edmund’s College, Cambridge and am currently completing a PhD in Medieval Literature at the University of Bristol and Macquarie University, Sydney. I can offer tuition in the following areas: • I am able offer the following services: • Tuition in English Language and English Literature from late primary to university level • Tuition in History from late primary to A-level • University admissions tuition • Mock Interviews/interview training • Crash courses in revision and exam technique • Revision planning and coursework planning • Creative writing • Essay technique My tutoring is highly personalised to the needs of each student and I am happy to work with students over a variety of short or long term goals. Sometimes someone only needs a few sessions to get them more confident with a particular area of difficulty, and sometimes it helps to work gradually over a longer period of time.
