First Class Oxford Student with a passion for all things strange and science-y

Hi! My name is Angelina and I've just graduated with a first class honours degree in medical sciences from Oxford, and I'm now continuing my studies in clinical medicine there. I've been tutoring for 2 and a half years through an agency and have just gone private (I can provide my former tutoring page and reviews on request) and in that time I've delivered over 1000 lessons to children from across the world and from a diverse range of backgrounds. I feel that too often in schools, there is a focus on simply remembering all the scientific terminology and being able to do all the calculations. Of course this is essential to being a good scientist, but because of scant resources, most schools don't get round to the most important thing which is inspiring a real love of science in their students. This is where (hopefully!) I can help. I've had students go from hating maths to talking about how much they love circle theorems, from finding chemistry mind-numbingly dull to becoming one of their favourite subjects. I not only want to help my students understand a subject but love it as well and I try to do that through sharing all the cool, slightly and weird, and incredibly exciting medical facts I have picked up from three years of slaving away in beautiful libraries to equally beautiful books on medicine.
