I give private piano, music theory, and composition lessons, to people of all ages and levels, tailored to their needs and goals.

I teach piano using a variety of method books, and I adjust my methodologies based on the needs of every individual student. In general, my priority, especially when teaching beginner students, is to make sure that they are on firm grounds with technique, music theory and music-reading skills. However, I am always careful not to inhibit the student’s natural musicality with an overload of technical information; balance between musicality and technique is crucial for me. I am also in favour of incorporating sight-reading quite early on in the learning process, as I think that the earlier a student takes it up, the easier and less daunting it will be for them in the long run. Since I am a composer and improviser, I am great at recognising which learners would benefit or enjoy exploring these aspects of their creativity. Therefore, I often incorporate them into my lessons. As a composer, I am proficient in music theory and have taught that separately and as well as composition. I can teach these fields as separate scientific fields, or as tools to enhance students’ musicality, depending on the students’ needs.
