Piano lessons in Bournemouth

My name is Alicia, I'm 26 and I've been passionate about music since very little. I used to sing a lot and even compose songs when I was a child. It was at the age of 13 that I decided to start taking piano lessons and since then piano has become a passion for me. I also took some guitar and singing lessons later on but piano continues to be my main instrument. Over the years I realised classical music was my thing. I would say my favourite composers are Bach, Chopin and Debussy but I also enjoy playing other genres such as film soundtracks. I have 8 years of teaching experience. I have a positive and fun attitude and I love setting goals for myself and for my students as I think this is the best way to learn. I have taught students at different levels, children and adults, students who were preparing to take piano exams and students who only played piano for fun. I do not hold any professional qualification but I can perform up to grade 8 pieces. I have been taking lessons from piano teachers all these years where I learnt about music theory, exercises like scales and arpeggios and performing different musical styles. My lessons are really adjustable depending on the student level and their preferences. You decide what music style you would like to play and even the songs you would like to perform! I would always be willing to suggest any song according to your level and your goals. We can do music theory if you would like or stick with more practical lessons if you prefer so. I always recommend to take at least 1 hour a week and of course to play every day at home if you can but we can do half an hour if an hour feels like too much or more than 1 hour a week if you are willing to do so. I normally teach at home but I can also teach online through some platforms like Skype, Zoom or Whatsapp video if that is more convenient for you. Please do not hesitate to contact me so we can discuss this further. I am excited to start this journey with you!
