In my brief tutoring experience, I find that taking the time to understand your student's learning style and preferred approach to learning and teaching alike is vital before starting with the materials that you will actually use to get through specific content. This in turn allowed me to cater my communication and teaching style to make the most out of sessions, and target important content that the student struggles to grasp. Whether they prefer learning by example, demonstration or independent practice, I implement everything that they need, to combat their weaknesses.
