Qualified, experienced and DBS checked teacher and examiner with over 20 years' educational experience

My daughter started lessons with Jacqueline in the summer before Year 11, and she achieved Grade 9s in both English Language and English Literature in her GCSEs. I would highly recommend Jacqueline, not only for her excellent teaching and help with exam preparation, but also for her genuine enthusiasm and passion for the subject. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed every lesson throughout the year and always felt she was learning something valuable. We feel very lucky to have found Jacqueline, and I’m so grateful for all the support and encouragement she gave my daughter.

Jacky is superb. She engaged our daughter’s interest and steered her skilfully towards far higher grades, which was the primary reason for seeking a tutor. Jacky exceeded our expectations and our daughter really cherished the time that they spent working together. Part of that can be put down to Jacky’s deep expertise and experience as an examiner, but much more was due to the rich, enthusiastic way that she teaches and responds to her learners. Our daughter loved working with Jacky, and went from predicted 5/6 grades at mocks, to achieving 7 and 9 in the exams.

I cannot recommend this tutor highly enough. Jacqueline is patient and professional, with a clear command of the syllabus and the assessment criteria. Beyond this, she is able to communicate a real enthusiasm for – an detailed knowledge of – her subject. Her encouraging and supportive teaching style were instrumental in giving our daughter the confidence she needed to achieve desired grade. Thanks Jacqueline, we could not have done it without you!

Jacky helped my daughter with her GCSE English Literature and English Language. She was encouraging, actively involved and had excellent subject knowledge. My daughter’s confidence and love of English grew with each week and thanks to Jacky obtained excellent grades. We would highly recommend her.
