Experienced Maths Teacher and tutor for over 14 years. I have taught KS3 and KS4 (GCSE 9-1 Higher and Foundation)

Advert description

I have been a qualified secondary school Maths teacher for the past 14 years. I have acquired substantial experience of working with a significant range of students and abilities. I understand the barriers to learning in Maths and can advise on areas where common misconceptions occur, showing alternative methods to answer popular topics and advise on exam techniques I now tutor one to one with students in order that I can make a real difference to their confidence and performance in Maths. At times this can be difficult to achieve in a classroom environment. My tutoring style is structured, relaxed and supportive. I will establish early on a student's individual proficiency so that they are educated at an adapted and bespoke level. I believe I can create a good working relationship with students quickly and I give lots of praise to develop motivation. Over the years I have been KS3/KS4 lead and also second in Maths department. I have invaluable knowledge of the sequence of learning at each key stage and how the Maths curriculum develops as it is taught in schools. I offer one to one online tuition and also group tuition at a reduced rate for similar ability students. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate.

H Moore

My son was tutored by Viviane Dawes in his final GCSE year and found her friendly and positive style of tutoring inspiring, clear and constructive. He was thrilled with the very high grade the he achieved as a result of the confidence and skills Viviane had equipped him with leading up to the exams and was even inspired to sit A level maths and do well in that also. I highly recommend her.

Viviane is very knowledgeable about maths GCSE. Particularly good at challenging your child to extend the higher paper. Lots of hints and tips that I didn't know before. With all the disruption in recent years it's a great investment in one of the most important exams they'll do.
