Guitar Lessons with Jamie Fekete: Classical • Flamenco • Gypsy Jazz • All Ages & Levels

Jamie taught my son for nearly three years from age 10. He was professional, encouraging, tech-savvy (software, video lessons with multiple useful camera angles) and prepared detailed feedback on video submissions. I was very impressed by his proficiency spanning different fretted instruments + genres, insistence on correct technique and posture (all sorely lacking in my son's previous teacher) and meticulous advice on fingering and alternative ways of playing a note/chord/bar. Very professional and I couldn't have asked for much more.

Jamie has a wonderful approach to teaching. He is patient, encouraging and guides my daughter through her grades. I would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking to learn guitar.

Jamie provides a very professional approach to teaching, and a very caring and considerate approach to his tutoring. He was able to help our son develop and hone his guitar playing skills within a very short period of time, and he designed a course of tuition that properly met our son's interests and skill level. In addition, he was very supportive when it came to various gradings which he organised. We fully recommend him as an excellent and talented teacher and mentor.

Jamie was a great teacher for my son. He (Jamie) took the time to get to know him, his learning style and how best to encourage him. Highly recommended.

Jamie taught my son for several years starting at a very young age. He was patient and knowledgeable and encouraged him to try different things. Would highly recommend!

Jamie has always been very kind and helpful in lessons, and makes learning engaging and fun. 10/10 would recommend!

Jamie taught my daughter both in person and virtually, and I can't recommend him highly enough. From the start, his patience and ability to connect with her was evident — he clearly knows how to build rapport with young learners and keep them engaged. The results speak for themselves: my daughter made more progress in just 6 months with Jamie than she had in the previous 2.5 years combined. More importantly, she developed a genuine love for playing — something no amount of practice drills can manufacture. The best indicator of a great teacher isn't test scores or recitals — it's whether a student wants to show up. My daughter looked forward to every lesson and started practicing on her own without being asked. That kind of intrinsic motivation is rare, and Jamie deserves full credit for nurturing it. If you're looking for a guitar teacher who is skilled, patient, adaptable (in-person and virtual), and truly invested in their students, look no further. Highly recommend.

Jamie is a brilliant teacher and always knows how to motivate me. He always helps me adapt the piece so that it’s easier and is very helpful.

Where do I begin! Mr Fekete taught me guitar from the age of around 7 to 16, during this time I can honestly say that the quality of the teaching that i received was second to none. Mr Fekete is an incredible teacher who was able to tailor the lessons to suit me and my own personal goals in learning guitar, as well as adapting how he teaches to suit my learning style. Lessons were always relaxed and fun, with an emphasis on personal development and making the process of learning enjoyable. As aforementioned, I had Mr Fekete as a teacher throughout my childhood and I feel qualified to say that his skill at teaching throughout the years was brilliant, and he is an extremely effective teacher for students of any age. If you want to learn in a safe, comfortable and constructive environment, this is the perfect teacher for you! In the 8 or so years since i have finished lessons i have kept up guitar (on and off!) casually alongside a busy lifestyle, and I can say that the skills I learnt ha

Jamie taught myself & my son to play the guitar with lessons at our home. As a very talented guitarist himself he still pitches his teaching at the appropriate level and pace for our different levels of ability. Lessons were well judged and fun and Jamie would always find a great piece for you to practise that matches your musical interests. Highly recommend.

Jamie taught my son guitar between the ages of 7 and 10 and I would recommend him without hesitation. He was a patient, engaging and versatile teacher who was always ready to change tack if a particular approach wasn't working. Unfailingly enthusiastic, he made lessons great fun whilst still encouraging my son to challenge himself. An excellent teacher.

I would heartily recommend Jamie as a guitar teacher. He taught my daughter to play guitar for many years and was an outstanding teacher. He was always patient and encouraging, helping her to achieve and progress with music grades, and resulting in her playing within a local guitar ensemble.

Jamie is an amazing guitar teacher, super skillful and very patient - the best combination one can hope for in a teacher helping kids learn music.

My son took guitar lessons for a year with Mr Fekete. He said the lessons were enjoyable and found his teaching style patient and fun. I would recommend Mr Fekete for any one looking to learn how to play the guitar.

I wondered how successful online guitar lessons would be, but Jamie is very engaging with my daughter, she has learnt a lot over her time and is progressing very well. Would highly recommend Jamie!

Jamie tutored my son Luke for several years through primary school and most of secondary school. Luke achieved his Grade 4 and worked towards his Grade 5 Jamie is an excellent tutor, fun, patient and organised. Luke thoroughly enjoyed his lessons, and I would happy recommend Jamie

My son had guitar lessons with Jamie for a few years as a child/young teenager and absolutely loved it. He achieved brilliant results in several classical exams but, more than that, Jamie’s patience and enthusiasm really boosted my son’s love for the guitar and he still plays regularly as a young adult both on his own for relaxation and also at family events and on other occasions for entertainment.

Genuinely Jamie has kept me interested in playing guitar. He always pushes me to try my absolute best, always shows fun pieces to play and is create at critiquing my work to help me improve.

Jamie is a very talented guitar player and an excellent tutor. He is patient and thorough and brings out the very best in technique from his pupils! I 100% recommend!

I had Jamie teach me the guitar for around 5 years and I cannot recommend him enough. He’s an expert at what he does and is extremely patient, a necessary quality with teaching an instrument I think.

My son Carlo received excellent guitar tuition from Jamie, achieving, under his guidance, distinctions in grades 2, 4 and 5.

I started learning guitar with Mr Fekete at young age. As a newcomer to the instrument he made me feel at ease and I never felt out of my depth. Mr Fekete is a fun and interesting teacher who balances his lessons incredibly well. He cares deeply for all of his students and he balances fun and practice exceptionally. Not only me, but my friends with different tastes and experiences have enjoyed learning in his company.

Jamie has been an excellent tutor for our son who started off his guitar classes with him. He provided him with a firm foundation and his classes which included videos were really helpful in practising post-class. He has high expectations from his students but is kind and recognises that not all students are the same. Would highly recommend him to any student wanting to learn how to play the guitar!

Jamie taught our son guitar, from around aged 8 and for several years. He also led a Guitar Sinfonia that our son was later a member of. He's a wonderful teacher! Jamie's expertise is beyond question - he will go through all the formal work to get grades - but he also has a brilliant talent for making learning music accessible, interesting & fun. With children this is often the key to getting them hooked and keeping them interested. I recommend Jamie absolutely & with no hesitation at all. 10/10!

Jamie taught my son guitar for several years through the latter part of primary school to secondary school. Jamie always found a way to inspire musical curiosity as well as to prepare students well for grading exams. Jamie prioritises kindness and kept lessons interesting. Jamie was flexible with lesson timing and communication was always clear and timely.

I am extremely grateful for the wonderful experience our 10-year-old son had learning the guitar with Jamie. Although the lessons were conducted online, he was incredibly engaging and made each session enjoyable and interactive. My son developed strong foundational guitar skills and gained confidence in his playing. One of the highlights was being introduced to an ensemble, where he had the opportunity to play regularly with others — such a valuable and motivating experience. He was always patient, punctual, and supportive, creating a positive learning environment that really helped our son progress. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dedicated and talented guitar tutor.

Jamie has taught me since I was in year 4 at primary school, I’m now I year 12 and still enjoying lessons with him! He is very friendly and easy to get on with and gives me lots of different music to play.

Jamie is a kind, patient teacher. I had lessons with him some time ago throughout my Trinity College London classical guitar gradings. He was particular about tone and posture which gave me a real technical foundation. He also brought genuine feeling out of the pieces I was learning, his passion for the instrument was clear and made the lessons feel like a shared experience. I couldn't recommend him enough!

Jamie is a fantastic Guitar teacher. He took our son through all the Grades up to Grade 8 (Distinction) Classical Guitar, and supported him through his Birmingham School's Guitar Ensemble (BSGE) and National Youth Guitar Ensemble (NYGE) journey. Jamie is extremely patient, informative, a superb Musician and passionate about teaching all things Guitar. I would not hesitate to recommend Jamie for all your child's/ your Guitar teaching. Paul Treuge Birmingham March 2026.

Jamie is an great guitar teacher and is a phenomenal musician. He guided me through my grade 5 Rock and Pop, helping me to achieve the best mark possible. His technical skill, stylistic range, and deep musical understanding make him the kind of teacher who can demonstrate something flawlessly, then break it down in a way that feels completely accessible. Whether he’s showing you a complex riff, guiding you through chord theory, or helping you refine your tone and improvisation his playing is consistently inspiring. Jamie is patience, never rushes or makes you feel self-conscious, and always meets you exactly where you are. He has a calm, steady way of teaching that turns challenges into manageable steps, and he celebrates progress (big or small) with genuine enthusiasm. That patience creates a learning environment where you feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and growing at your own pace.

Jamie is a inspirational Guitar teacher, he gives children the skills, the belief and encouragement that they can achieve their goals , and become great guitarist. Hes firm, but patience and caring . Id definitely recommend him as a teacher, you will not be disappointed.

I am an adult learner with a decent knowledge of playing the guitar but Jamie unpicked my bad habits and put me on the path to a deeper understanding of what to do. That input in my opinion was priceless. Very adaptable with his lessons and in many instances he would change the lesson to suit my needs and moods. He encourages you to develop your own style and encourages innovation and enquiry. I could go on but I only have very good things to say about Jamie's teaching style and lessons

My son has been having lessons since he was 7, he’s now 17 and still really enjoys his weekly lesson. Jamie tailors the lessons to his music tastes and this has made a real impact on my son’s love of music and the guitar.

A Transformative Experience After more than a year of lessons with Jamie, I can confidently say he has transformed my guitar playing as an adult learner. He is friendly and makes learning enjoyable. Jamie selects a diverse range of interesting pieces, keeping my practice engaging and expanding my musical repertoire. His teaching style is flexible, allowing me to stay motivated despite my busy work and family life. Moreover, his clear explanations of new techniques break down complex concepts, boosting my confidence and skills. I highly recommend Jamie as a guitar teacher for anyone looking to start/enhance their playing experience.

A patient, talented and generous teacher, Jamie’s knowledge of flamenco is impressive and he will inspire you to learn the pieces you love.

Jamie taught my son guitar lessons for several years starting as a peripatetic teacher in his primary school and I then paid privately for lessons during my son’s secondary school years. My son loved his lessons with Jamie and developed a real passion for music which has continued through University. Jamie was always calm and patient with my son, he’s a dedicated professional. As a Headteacher, I valued Jamie’s professionalism as a music teacher and have no hesitation in recommending him.

My 2 children both love their lessons with Jamie - they’ve made rapid progress and really enjoy the sessions. My son in particular loves learning songs that he’s familiar with!

Jamie taught My son and daughter. He was so passionate about what he was doing. He taught them both at primary school and privately. Encouraged my son to further his experience and love for music by placing him in local ensembles and studying for music theory. I found his approach very chilled yet with obvious desire for them to succeed and progress. My son is an avid music enthusiast now and his music appreciation spans decades and I put this down to what he experienced with Jamie’s lessons and music choices, also spanning a wide genre. You are in good , experienced and gentle hands.

Jamie is an excellent guitar teacher. He taught my youngest classical guitar for many years, supporting him with his exams and teaching him techniques and skills that have enhanced his playing and that he has take into his career as a musician. Lessons are fun, interesting and also challenging yet supportive. I would highly recommend Jamie.

Jamie has taught our son for the past 9 years, and taken him successfully through to complete grade 8 in classical guitar. He has always been always polite, professional and patient in his teaching. He has built a great rapport with our child and has made guitar lessons truly enjoyable. Even in the midst of strenuous GCSE preparations this year, our son always looks forward to the guitar lessons and, in fact, finds playing the guitar a great stress buster. As parents, we are very grateful to Jamie for the positive impact he has had on our son.

I had Flamenco guitar lessons with Jamie for many years, he is an amazing guitarist with a brilliant understanding of music theory and very knowledgeable of Flamenco and the unique guitar techniques used, he is very adaptable in his teaching methods with brilliant communication skills and able to break everything thing down to simplify it all making it easier to understand, he is extremely patient and able to move you at a comfortable pace for you to be able to get the best out of your own journey in this beautiful art, I found the lessons at a very reasonable price and well worth every penny and to top it all off he is such a nice guy, I really would highly recommend Jamie if you are looking for someone to teach you Flamenco guitar.

Jamie taught my daughter guitar. He was very supportive and inspired my daughter to play with confidence and she very much enjoyed her lessons, which was amazing as we are not a musical family at all.

Jamie is a really committed teacher who brings enthusiasm and energy to his lessons. He has an extensive knowledge of the classical guitar repertoire and understanding of music theory and has provided me with sound advice and feedback, which has really helped develop my guitar playing.

Jamie has taught my 2 boys for over 10 years, taking the oldest all the way through to grade 6 and I honestly could not have chosen a better teacher. He teaches with enthusiasm, and is keen for students to enjoy their music and understand how to play. He adapts to their needs, musical interests and personalities, varying between doing grades, fun pieces or music of their choice, including Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Coldplay - he can turn his hand to anything they request, and is imaginative to maintain their interests, getting to know them and what makes them tick! Whether online or face to face, he motivates and supports them. When they have done grades, we have been confident that they would do well under his guidance as he teaches so well. My kids really like Mr Fekete and this is worth its weight in gold as I remember not being very keen on my music teacher as a child!! As a parent, I’ve always found him to be friendly and approachable. I would absolutely recommend J

Our daughter has been learning guitar with Jamie for six years starting in primary school. Over that time, we’ve watched her grow from a complete beginner into a confident and skilled guitar player. Lessons are engaging and encouraging, and Jamie is great at bringing out the best in her. I’d recommend Jamie to anyone looking for an inspiring and dedicated guitar teacher.

I cannot recommend Jamie enough! My daughter started lessons with him at just age 6 and he is still her teacher 7 years later. He has a gift for working with different age groups and keeps lessons exciting by creating interactive games that makes practicing feel like play. ?As a parent with zero musical background, I am so grateful for how he goes above and beyond to support me and the student —whether it's sending custom video tutorials, teaching me how to restring the guitar! or guiding us through exam prep.

Jamie has made learning guitar as an adult a really positive experience. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, his teaching materials are highly organised and he takes a very tailored and flexible approach, which is an amazing combination. He is also very friendly, kind and encouraging and gives useful feedback, so I never feel daft when I make mistakes. I can personally recommend Jamie for adults and can imagine he must be great for younger people too.
