Experienced English Tutor with a Passion for Helping You Succeed

Hello! I’m Amber, an experienced and passionate English tutor specialising in English Language and Literature for students aged 11 through to GCSE level. With over four years of classroom teaching experience, I bring both a deep understanding of the AQA curriculum and a proven track record of helping students thrive—whether they need to build confidence, catch up, or push for top grades. I hold a PGCE with QTS in Secondary Education (English), alongside a BA (Hons) in English Literature. My strong academic background, combined with hands-on experience in schools, allows me to deliver lessons that are not only curriculum-focused but also engaging, personalised, and results-driven. How I Can Help My tutoring is tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style. Whether your child is preparing for their GCSEs or starting their secondary school journey, I provide structured and supportive sessions designed to build core skills, boost confidence, and improve outcomes. As a specialist in the AQA GCSE English Language and Literature specifications, I offer targeted, in-depth support across all key areas of the curriculum. This includes: Text analysis for key GCSE texts such as Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, and A Christmas Carol Mastering exam techniques: comprehension, comparison, analytical writing, and creative tasks Building foundational skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking for KS3 students Encouraging independent thinking and developing a strong command of written expression Above all, I believe learning should be inspiring and empowering. I work hard to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, make progress, and enjoy the subject. If you're looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and supportive English tutor to help your child grow in confidence and achieve their full potential, I’d love to help.
